That Summer Review

"Sometimes even the ones you want to believe turn out to be liars"

Sorry for not posting for a long time! I'm still kind of lazy from the cold weather and all. But I have been reading so I have a lot of reviews in store for you. This will be the first of many ☺

This is the 3rd Sarah Dessen book I've read and as far as nice goes, this book is no where near that. Don't get me wrong, Sarah Dessen is a fantastic writer but I just think that the writing in this one wasn't her best.
The plot is pretty shallow. It's about this fifteen year old girl named Haven. This could have developed into a decent story but I think that Sarah Dessen came up with so much problems but it didn't really hit a common ground. The problems Haven encountered didn't even seem to connect to anything.

Haven is too tall standing at almost 6 feet and she just won't stop growing. Not only that, her parents are divorced because her father is going to remarry a blonde and ambitious weather girl. And of course, her sister, Ashley who was the center of everything as far as Haven knew, happens to be planning her own wedding as well. Suddenly, she runs into Sumner, her sister's ex-boyfriend and she starts to relive the summer when everything was perfect. When her parents were still together and Ashley was actually nice to her. But then nothing seems right anymore after Ashley broke up with Sumner, and Haven chooses to believe that he is the only one who can make things right again.

This book seemed nice at some point and everything just seemed to get really intense all at once and then it actually led to nothing. Maybe when you start to notice there are a few pages left and nothing substantial has happened yet, you start to believe that the ending will be pretty nice but it still isn't. I was pretty disappointed after reading this. Don't waste your time.

It's true what they say. Don't judge a book by it's cover.
